My Thoughts :
I am really enjoying this site/app. They have all the best-sellers and all the genres I am looking for. I am a fan of audiobooks. I personally have a 35-40 minute drive to work; what better way to use that time then pop-in an audiobook. I guess “pop-in” is a bit old-school; I really plug my phone in to the car. I also love to listen to books while I’m running; and when I say running, I mean walking quickly.

What I liked :
  • Selection – They have got you covered here. The company has also built the site with an eye towards helping you discover new books. How great! I tend to get stuck in what I know and miss out on some of the great reads out there.
  • Bluetooth – No worrying with cords. eStories works with your cars Bluetooth system.
  • Member benefits – Members get 33% off books and a generous 30 day return policy. As a member you will choose one of three plans. With the basic plan you get one book a month of your choosing, with the 33% off any other purchases that month. If you don’t see a book you want that month, no worries, you can roll over that book credit for up to six months.
  • The app – The app was very easy to use and is free. It is available on Android and iphones. It also allows you to pick the speed of playback and has a sleep-timer mode.
  • The price – It’s cheaper the Audible! The basic plan for Audible is $14.95 a month compared to eStories’ $11.99 price. Now remember this gets you one audiobook a month. Audiobooks are pricey by themselves. For example, Stephen King’s “11/22/63” runs around $44, so twelve bucks is cheap! It also starts out with a month free audiobooks trial.

What I didn’t like :
  • Organizing Books – I only have one book in the app now. As you begin adding more and more, it would be nice to have a way to organize them into genres, your own categories, or have a way to search your titles. However, they do have a way to sort for unread and unfinished. I’m sure they will continue to improve their site/app as they go.

Not convinced? Try it free for a month and get an Audiobook for free!
